Years ago I changed all the Shakespeare holdings for greater access.I got them from
the Dewey p. 658-9 - from some old version from the 70s probably - which is when I
first transformed the collection.Complete break down - for examplefor Macbeth (0f
course we don't say its name outloud)822.33 S7 Shakespeare for the script822.33 S8
Brown - for critical info on the scriptetc. etc. etc.   Students love itI did the
same thing with all the 800s - for poetry, critical stuff, etc.AllanDr. Allan

LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDUSubject: Re: [LM_NET] Shakespeare 822.33Could we ask for
some advice regarding this section? Finding things in
822.33 is a nightmare because there is too much to go through. We would
like to know the best way to break this up - how would you catalogue /
Dewey number Shakespeare's works themselves as opposed to criticism
about his works? Would it be okay to distinguish between the two by
making a modification in the Dewey number? We would be most interested
in any ways you may know of that would make this section more accessible
for our students.

Thanks in advance for any information on this topic.

David
