I have a 10th- 12th grade teacher who covers genocide and other human atrocities (such as child prostitution) in her classes. She is interested in gathering together titles (fiction or memoirs mostly) for outside readings and possibly literature circles - for a classroom library. I've already suggested the following titles, but I'm wondering if anyone has any other ideas. TIA! Sold (McCormick) The Story of My Life (Ahmedi) Tree Girl (Mikaelsen) I, Rigoberta Menchu Zlata's Diary (Filipovic) West of Kabul; East of New York (Ansary) Tangled Threads (Shea) Children of Cambodia's Killing Fields (Pran) Farewell to Manzanar (Houston) We Just Want to Live Here (Rifa'I and Ainbinder) Over a Thousand Hills I Walk With You (Jansen) Tish Carpinelli, Media Specialist Lower Cape May Regional H.S.
