Hello LM_NETters, My co-librarian and I have just been informed by our tech director that our library is going to get a wireless cart of laptops for library use only. Over winter break, our library was recarpeted, our cables were cut, numerous outlets were removed along with all of our desktop computers. We were told that the desktops would not be replaced and we would now be totally wireless. Needless to say, we have a lot of reservations about being solely wireless. Our chief concerns are: theft, vandalism, battery life and time taken away from class to sign the computers in and out. I have searched the archives and read some posts concerning these issues but, I would like to know if there is anything else that we should look out for. We are going to sit down with our supervisor soon to set policy for this new lab. Our tech people assure us that these new laptops charge quickly but, we are a 1600 student high school and we have kids in the library every period of the day. I would appreciate any feedback that you could give me from those of you who are living this now. I will post a hit if there is interest. Thank you!*************************** Juliann T.
