[LM_NET] Cataloging and Processing Question

Hi, my name is Jody Jankoski and I am a graduate student currently taking a 
cataloging class at McDaniel College.  I would greatly appreciate information and 
advice from experienced library media specialists/school catalogers could give me 
with an assignment.  Please share with me the reasons and importance of having a 
written technical processing policy for cataloging materials.  Should the policy 
list specifics for different grade levels?  I am especially interested in the 
elementary level.  any sample policies would be most helpful.  Thank you for taking 
the time to help me with this.
