Our grateful thanks to the wonderful Joan Kimball for once again compiling
the official LM_NET list of receommended titles for 2007. And just look at
how many
of the award winners we all predicted! Of the Caldecott, Newbery, Sibert,
and Geisel, we named 13 of them! (The only ones we missed were Lightship
(Sibert Honor), and the Geisel Honors, Hello, Bumblebee Bat, Jazz Baby, and
Vulture View. So we actually came up with every Newbery and Caldecott.
Wow. That's pretty darn great! LM_NETters know how to pick winners, that's
for sure. And now we have a wonderful reading list for catching up on those
books we may have missed this year.
