I am having a problem with students eating food (lunch) in the high school library. Many students come straight to our library during lunchtime. If they go to the cafeteria first, by the time they finish eating, our library might be full to capacity or there are no computers left for them to use. So they come directly to the library and try to eat their lunch when I'm not looking! Obviously, I am thrilled that so many students choose to spend their lunchtime in the library. However, I do not think they should be allowed to eat in the library. I am looking for some creative solutions to this problem and would love to hear your suggestions. I am considering setting up a counter with stools in the adjacent photocopy room where students can quickly eat their lunch and return to the library. I might even create a “café” in that room! Has anyone done anything like this? I’d love to hear your thoughts or advice on this matter. Thanks in advance!
