I am still grinning about Hugo Cabret's Caldecott award. I knew it was a winner the moment I began the adventure. Of course, not every book that " I " know is a winner is considered the same by others. Ahhh, but I digress. I have just read my first 2008 picture book, and I ADORE it! However, I don't think it is eligible for the next Caldecott, because of the art used. Could those who know please speak up and inform me? The book is Artful Reading by Bob Raczka. He showcases about two dozen famous / not - so -famous paintings of people reading. I am buying my own personal copy, as well as some for my school library. Our art teacher will love it too! Thanks for your enlightenment.
