I am a brand new media specialist this year and the middle school library I work in catalogues and processes MARC records using the cutter system. I have a question involving nonfiction works. If we were sent a mythology/folk tale book authored by the last name of Smith, our book jobber would send us a sheet cataloging that book as 398 SMI. Currently, we would not use the "SMI". Does anyone have advice for a middle school library that is transitioning from one system to another? Thank you for your help. -Jamie Navarette Media Specialist Fremont Middle School 540 Johnson Rd.
