Hi LM_Netters, PBS has been doing a nice job revitalizing their content for library media teachers. See: <http://www.pbs.org/teachers/librarymedia/> http://www.pbs.org/teachers/librarymedia/ The PBS Teachers Web site now includes resources on fair use and articles from the print issues of Knowledge Quest, along with MARC Records for PBS programs. Their roundups of PBS resources are great to handout or e-mail to subject areas teachers. The latest KQ article by Annette Lamb <http://www.pbs.org/teachers/librarymedia/aasl/index.html> http://www.pbs.org/teachers/librarymedia/aasl/index.html discusses using social technology and social networks with kids Lamb argues that these technologies are worth serious consideration precisely because they hold out great promise for intellectual freedom: "Social technologies test the boundaries of intellectual freedom precisely because they provide an open forum for ideas." Debbie Abilock, Editor-in-Chief Knowledge Quest http://www.ala.org/aasl/kqweb kq@abilock.net Knowledge Quest is devoted to offering substantive information to assist building-level library media specialists, supervisors, library educators, and other decision makers concerned with the development of school library media programs and services. Articles address the integration of theory and practice in school librarianship and new developments in education, learning theory, and relevant disciplines. No virus found in this outgoing message.
