My original Target:

Does anyone know of a company that buys back surplus projector lamps? I've
cleaned out an AV cabinet and have a BUNCH of lamps for which we no longer have
equipment. I realize I'll just get pennies on the dollar, but I would rather do
that than throw these away.

RESPONSES:

I’ve got the same problem. Please post a hit!!

I have heard there are light bulb collectors who will pay $$ for old bulbs
Never tried it but it might be worth checking out!

We sold ours back to Scott Electric last year.

What are they? Maybe someone here can use them. This year I sold 400
books that we didn't use. There are schools out there with older
equipment. I would be interested if I could use them.

Topbulb (www.topbulb.com) used to. I don't know if they still do, but
you ought to be able to find out pretty quickly.

I TALKED WITH TOPBULB—THEY DON’T DO IT ANYMORE.(TB)

Another idea is to make up a list of bulbs that are surplus to your
needs as a WORD document, announce on the various lists that you have
surplus bulbs and will send the list to anyone who is interested.

If you don't get any leads of places who will buy these bulbs, you might want to go
another direction. There is an organization called freecycle.
http://www.freecycle.org. You join for free and post items you no longer want.
People respond back to you and they will pick them up at your home

I finally passed them on to our local BOCES people. (Board of Cooperative
Educational Services). They supply us with bulbs now. I didn't ask for any money,
but things like this help getting better service.

NEWS FLASH—Scott Electric DOES buy back lamps.
Fax your list to Angela at 877-837-8906.Lamps must be in original packaging, in
re-saleable condition. You get 5 cents on a retail dollar CREDIT for current or
future invoices-no cash.(TB)
