Just off the high of choosing Peter Sis's wonderful picture book, The Wall,
for this year's Sibert Medal, I spent today (my birthday, even) in NYC seeing
Tom Stoppard's Broadway play Rock 'n' Roll which is about the same
subject--Prague in 1968 and beyond. Spectacular. It's on a limited run, so if
in/near/going to the city, don't miss it. If you read The Wall before you go,
you'll have a bit of background so you're not befuddled by the politics. The
acting's superb.
