Here is another twist to the discarded books strand. Have any of you sold discarded books for your library on ebay? I discovered that some books, which I discarded to students and faculty, were then sold on ebay -- even with library markings. Most fetched only a few dollars - but this might be a source of money for some libraries. I often receive paperback donations, and I sell or trade unacceptable ones to a local used book store. I am wondering if I can find an adult volunteer to take up this ebay project for our library. I became interested in this idea after hearing that a young college student that I know picked up discarded textbooks from a discard bin on campus and sold them on ebay last month for $600. Guess we have to remember the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure. Sharon Slaney, Librarian Timberlake H.S. Library 5973 W. Hwy 54 P.O.
