[LM_NET] TAR: Book character

One of our teachers is trying to remember 
Greetings LM-NETTERS,

One of our teachers is trying to remember the name of a children's book
character from several years ago.
The character on the cover of each book was a black monkey with a white
face and he was holding a partially eaten banana.  She thinks his name
could have been Zippy but is not certain.  An Amazon search yielded no
results.  I don't have any books in my library whose character fits that
description.  If you know of this, please email me offline.
