My latest message on the Florida cop triggered some questions about Julie.

Nothing has happened at all in her case. A recent discussion between some of
the folks following this case closely provided the information that if the
state fails to bring the case to trial in 13 months (which would be July)
then Julie is free.

My personal thoughts - with absolutely no inside information and I could be
totally wrong - how is that for a caveat. ;-) I think the state knows it has
no case. But with all of the really bad publicity they have received on
this, I rather suspect that they think that the quietest way to get this
over with is to simply sit and do nothing. Which unfortunately means that
Julie is unable to get on with her life. But I suspect that is the nasty
game they are playing - to try to protect their own backside from any more
bad PR.
