You are invited to participate in a research study about the use of some of the new tools available on the World Wide Web and their use in the school library media center. As the Internet and the World Wide Web become more available in schools, homes and businesses, it is important to assess the use of these tools to make us more productive, valued, and, perhaps, more competitive. The purpose of the study is to establish baseline data regarding the knowledge and use of many of the newer web-accessible tools by school library media specialists. In addition, the survey will identify factors limiting use of these tools, innovative uses where they exist, and opportunities for professional development. Whether you've never used any of these tools or you use some of them every day, your responses are important! The survey is quite lengthy. Depending upon your experiences, however, it should take you no longer than 30-45 minutes to complete it. You will not have to answer any question you do not wish to answer. All responses are anonymous and you may exit the survey at anytime. Please go to http://www.surveymethods.com/EndUser.aspx?CAEE8298CD8C9E99 or http://dwarfurl.com/f5100 to read more about is study and to decide whether or not you wish to participate and complete the survey. The survey will be open until March 15, 2008. Results should be available by early summer. Thanks for your interest and assistance!
