Here is one more excellent response to the 9th grade orientation inquiry. This is exactly the type of thing I was looking for. My school is going to start having Moodle this year so I've never used it before but I can't wait to try it. Sari Grandstaff imabluestocking@yahoo.com Saugerties Senior High School Library Media Specialist I did mine on Moodle this past year and it worked very well. It became more of a self-paced short course and the kids were more engaged then in previous years. I do orientation with our 9th grade social studies classes during their health unit so the articles I picked were geared toward that. The classes are huge (some over 40 kids) and they are heterogeneous groups so allowing the more advanced kids to go faster worked well and I had some enrichment activities tied to information literacy issues for them when they finished. Below is a link to our district's Moodle server. Click on the guest login button and click on LHS. Library orientation is the third link down. Some of the instructions may not be entirely accurate since the databases change but you will get the drift. http://muhsd-moodle.muhsd.k12.ca.us/ Tony -------------------------------------------------- Anthony Doyle, Teacher Librarian Livingston High School Livingston, CA tdoyle@muhsd.k12.ca.us -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
