Kathy and LM_Net, First, thanks Kathy, for pointing me to an interesting an informative blog on technology integration into the library. I am still reading Jeri's NECC 08 blogs, and they are rife with fascinating information (and I was in San Antonio!). Second, as to the "hidden agenda," I found only a link to her "significant other's political blog" (clearly labeled as such), posted I thought as a request to encourage his first blog effort. The choice to honor this personal request was mine & mine alone. If I don't want to view new political blogs, I wouldn't click on it. The post you mention is a widget (clearly labeled) above her blogroll which I didn't notice at first because I was so fascinated with her postings on the library in technology. IMHO, I think your post qualifies more as propoganda than does Jeri's blog. I grow weary of the attitude that to be against the war is to be against the men and women fighting it. My son is ex-Army, and I am so proud of his service to our country, though I did not always agree with the orders he received, I was proud that he did his duty and followed those orders. I draw a distinction between the decision-makers in this war (the "deciders," if you will) and the people who must, as their sworn duty, carry out those decisions. I am against the war in Iraq (have been from the beginning) AND I support our troops for their self-less service to our country. Finally, LM-Netters, please do what I did: Click on Jeri's link and judge for yourselves. My two cents. Patsy McLaughlin Librarian Technology Integration Mentor (TIM) Spring I.S.D.
