Just a note for those working with Young Adults....

If you aren't a member of YALSA, you might want to consider joining
especially if you work with high school students. YALSA's summer
issue (which just arrived yesterday in my mailbox) contains a wealth
of resources for the upcoming Teen Read Week (October 12-18, 2008).
Not only does the journal contain some great ideas, there are articles
about various issues that affect teens and their lives---and what
librarians can do to help.

This year's Teen Read Week's theme is "Books with Bite @ Your Library"
and this month's YALSA has some great ideas for using books (and
movies) to encourage students to participate in this year's theme.
There are some great resources listed (as always) and lots of
wonderful promotional ideas to get students involved.
