I wanted to include 2 more replies to my question. Thanks!

  My library partner and I cover 7 elementary schools.   I do three and technology;
she does 4. From my point of view: I like the flexibility to go where and do
what is most needed and to develop collaborative lessons and partnerships. My
partner has a basic schedule that she follows each week and prefers that way of
doing things. Our aides vary in personality and abilities but are all diligent
workers. Some are better with storytimes than others and library lessons tend to
only be done when the certified person is around. My advise is to build on your
strengths and personality. My partner and I do things differently but we each get
the job done.

Greetings, Diane! I am a 3-school library veteran!
Have no fear...it can be done! Although I am now at
only one high school now, I traveled for almost four
years. It can be hard to juggle, but if you stay
positive and organized, you can find a balance. In
fact, when I was a traveling librarian, I wrote 100
Library Lifesavers: A Survival Guide for School
Library Media Specialists. This book is full of
helpful reproducibles and ready-to-use activities to
meet the special needs of the traveling media
specialist. The book (and it's sequel...100 More
Library Lifesavers) is available through Libraries
Unlimited (www.lu.com). I think you'll find these
resources helpful. Good luck to you!
