Dear LM_Netters, I think I am about to begin a massive weeding of career books. While the books are not ancient, the information in terms of salaries, college tuitions, and job outlook is extremely inaccurate. On the other hand, I have excellent online databases and websites for career information. Another librarian suggested to an administrator that these books need not be discarded, that the inaccurate information could be crossed out or wite-ed-out. After my eyes popped out of my head at the other librarian's suggestion, I offered that wite-ing-out parts of a book would be a copyright violation. But I think I need a short list of reasons why we weed and discard, and why we never wite-out the information in a book. I am tempted to go on a lengthy tirade about this issue and I think I just need a short list for back-up. Thanks in advance. ************************************ Debra Gniewek, Librarian CRHS South Holland, PA vm: 215-944-1175 fax: 215-944-1144 dgniewek@crsd.org debgniewek@gmail.com ********************************** -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
