[LM_NET] Video cameras in High School

Our business department uses video camera for projects and we have been
using them more and more for other areas of the school.  We have found
that after several uses the cameras just stop exporting/importing.  We
have been unable to determine if it is the cameras that are causing the
problem or the computers (possibly shorting them out with surges).  We
run e-macs (mostly) and use i-movie and Final Cut Express.

Does anyone have any recommendations of cameras that have worked
successfully for a long period of time?  We have tried Canon ZR Series
500-800 and Sony Handycam DCR-HC26.
