I have tried searching for this info in the archives, but to no avail. Does anyone know of or use a general placement test or other evaluation tool for students coming into an elementary school setting. We test grades one through eight using an end-of-book test from the previous year for math and reading, and we have them do a writing sample. We are a Catholic school of about 450, and we need to evaluate incoming students to see where they are academically when they come in from other schools. Is there something else we could be using? Something maybe more standardized? Any input would be appreciated. If I get anything really good, I'll post it. Thanks.
