For March is Reading Month, I am as usual offering a reading contest for the students. I decided to offer a similar contest to the teachers because I want them to read. I want them to discover new books so they can talk about them with students. To go along with this, I am trying to find articles about the power of the teacher relating to reading amongst students. I want articles that discuss students success and all that fun stuff. The first article I handed out was from Jim Trelease's website. http://www.trelease-on-reading.com/whatsnu_morrie.html Can any of you recommend articles as such? I would love to have the link or even a fax of the original article. I will take articles that apply to all of K-12, but the elementary (K-6) is where the contest is. I just started this in the elementary where March is Reading Month has been going on. Then in a few years I can work this in to high school also.I will post a hit if there is interest. All I can say is that I am trying!
