Friends:

I have a request for picture books that will exemplify persuasive writing to a 
class of 5th graders.  I can think of half a dozen, including Viorst's Earrings; 
Gaiman's The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish; but need more.  Ideas please?
