We will be rearranging our entire library next week because we finally got some new shelves and also have about 500 new books. While that is great, trying to move the entire collection of 9500 books in a week is going to be tricky. We currently have our Eyewitness books shelved as a series but it seems that many of the titles don't get checked out, like the Dance, Art, Music, etc because it is mostly the boys who like to sit and browse through the titles. Of course their favorites are Battle, Arms & Armor, and any of the war books. So I am wondering how you all file these books, as a series or with the other books of the same subject. My other question is about the Childhood of Famous Americans biographies. We have quite a few of these but I am not sure how useful they are when students are doing their biography reports since they are not only old but don't really have specific dates/timelines. I have read that they are mostly fictionalized accounts. When our students are doing biography reports we try to steer them away from these. Do you have these books, and if you do where do you shelve them? Thanks so much..we want to try to move each shelf only once. Yeah, like that is going to happen!!
