[LM_NET] TAR MID Summer packets

I am wondering if any middle schools have students work on a packet during the 
summer break? Do you grade it? What kind of incentives do you give? 
 
We have done one for the past 2 summers and as you can imagine it has not been well 
received. We are actually thinking of posting it on the school website to save 
paper. We would like to have them be able to complete it and submit it online. Does 
anyone do this now? If so, what kind of a program / web application do you use?
