Dear Creative and Inventive Library Minds,

I have a two part question. I am preparing for a huge lesson (3 days)
on website evaluation for my 8th graders. The majority of them have
never been exposed to anything about this before and I need to get it in
before they go to HS. They haven't had access to a computer class or
lab, so what they know about the internet they have learned on their own
or what research skills I have taught this year.

1st, a couple of years ago I saw a list of about 30-45 websites, both
good and bad and the students were supposed to evaluate them in about 60
minutes. The average student spends 45 seconds to decide whether a site
has good information or not. After 3 different computers and 4 crashes
I've lost that list. (Yes, I am doing a better job of backup now.) If
anyone has the list I would really appreciate it if you could send it to
me.

2nd, I have a large list of hoax sites, but I need to intersperse good
websites with them as examples. If you have good websites that might be
of interest to middle school students I need links to those too.

On the other hand if someone already has a lesson all done, I would be
glad not to have to reinvent the wheel in the next few days!

Since I plan on spending a lot of time on this, I'll post it on the
LM_NET wiki when I am done.

Thanks in advance for all of your help.
