[LM_NET] book like The Giggler Treatment

I have been reading The Giggler Treatment by Roddy Doyle to my third
graders and have had an overwhelming positive response from the kids.
The kids, especially those  kids who have not been captured by a book
before, 
literally utter groans when I stop reading.  
Has anyone read this funny book and if so, can you suggest a follow up?
