In Australia, we too, get these callers. We can often tell they are on the line because there is a big pause before they start talking. I usually just hang up on them but here are some things that different people have done: Pretend they are a child and then after awhile change to the child's mother and ask questions as to why this adult is talking to their child. Ask if the person is a friend of the caller. If they say yes they say that it is the police and they need to talk to the person as there has been a murder and they need info on the person they are calling. Keep the line open and walk away for awhile As for their home phone number so they can call them back Want to raise test scores? School libraries help. Make school libraries a priority. Dona J.
