I am writing a grant in order to increase parental involvement in our students'
educational lives and I am looking at a way to involve the school library.

One of the ways I am looking to include the parents is by creating a parent
collection. (My school is a K-8 school so we have no students who are parents
themselves).

Another way I was thinking of including parents is to have the library open one
night a week where parents could do homework with their children, and/or
participate in a parent/child book club or a parent/child read aloud.

What are some ways that you have used the library to increase parental involvement
and if you have a parent collection developed specifically for the parents, how
have you advertised this to them?

I am also looking for any other creative ideas you may have on this topic.

I will post a hit if there is interest.

Patricia
