Hi everyone, I am a middle school librarian, and I have a teacher whose 6th grade class is partnering up with a second grade class at an elementary school in our district to read them children's books. The teacher has asked me to do a lesson with the 6th graders on storytelling/reading aloud to children. I'm wondering if the elementary librarians can suggest some popular titles that are fun to read aloud-- books that the elementary kids enjoy listening to, and/or what to look for when selecting a good book to read aloud (i.e. humor, suspense, books with repetition or rhyming). I'm compiling a list of suggestions to assist the 6th graders in selecting a book, so any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!!
