I'd suggest that you get combos (DVD and VCR in one box). Because of the
changeover to digital, machines with tuners in them are much more
expensive that those without. I just looked at the Wal-Mart site, and
you can get combo recorders for $130 and up.
Why do you need tuners? Are you planning on hooking each machine to an
antenna? If you are just going to do a bit of off-air recording you can
set up a machine or two in a corner of your back room for that. Then you
can get the cheap play-only combos for $60 or so.
