[LM_NET] Hit All level, teaching book browsing

I think that browsing skills have to be taught from Kdg. On up.  I have
the kinders take a book to their table to look through before selecting,
students that can read are told to give the book a test. Using 5
fingers, put one up for a word or concept they can't figure out and if
they get to 5 the book has to wait until later in the school year to
test again. Starting in grade 2-up the test involves reading the blurb,
checking out the pictures, looking at the table of contents and if it's
nonfiction looking through the index.  I sometimes tell older readers to
give the book a chance before they decide, by reading about one tenth of
the number of pages.
