While that is a helpful thing to know, I would direct my kids to look first for a regular date/date modified indicator first. The automatic indicator can't distinguish between a change to replace a typo from an actual content change, which a manual indicator at the bottom of the page or in the html head date field (seen towards the top of the page when viewing the page source) can show. Lacking such an indicator, it is a useful trick though. Kathryn -- Kathryn Frech, Librarian Seton Catholic Central H.S. It appears that typing in the javascript code provides the last update to the site, not the page you are looking at. Here is the hit on above subject and my original question. Does anyone know how to ascertain the last update to a website opened in Internet Explorer by looking behind the scenes? I know that if I open a website in Mozilla and right click the site, then open properties; there will be the last update noted. It would help to pass along an easy way for students to find out the last update on a website when they are looking for information for website evaluation. Thanks and hopefully I will pass along the info if someone knows how to find it. The last date modified will pop up. .......>>>> I believe that if you type javascript:alert(document.lastModified) into the address bar and hit enter, a little dialog window will open with the date and time of the last update. .......>>>> Type this into the window of a web page to see when the site you are visiting was last updated. javascript:alert(document.lastModified) .......>>>> I think you can do it by going to FILE>PROPERTY>GENERAL.
