Hi Everyone, I am new to two libraries this year, so getting to know both collections has been a bit hard (mostly remembering what I have in one school and not the other) and I work in one building a week (I alternate with a Library Aide...I know, I know...) While at one school I had an email from another, a teacher who works with students with Learning Disabilities to make her a list of books that are at a first grade to second grade reading level but third grade interest. Trying to find something that fit well, as well as starting to label my AR books has lead me to the conclusion that I lack high interest low level chapter books, other than Junie B, Magic Tree House (according to AR, which is wonky at leveling I know!) is third grade, and many of the other books I thought to recommend are not good for someone who is reading at a first grade or early second grade reading....and really my second graders are often out of luck picking chapter books too, as my collection seems to be very high when it comes to Chapter Books (Mostly 5th grade level, and fourth) I am lacking high interest, low level reading books for the older students And Early Reading Chapter Books for my second graders and the firsts who are ready. What titles would you recommend for my next order to fill these holes? Thanks!
