ORIGINAL REQUEST:

One of our 6th grade teachers has asked me to compile a list of books
"where the dog dies."-- she's reading No More Dead Dogs with her class.
I can come up with the obvious ones, Where the Red Fern Grows, Sounder,
Old Yeller, and Stone Fox. Any more suggestions?
