This isn't really very literary but I didn't realize when we agreed to name our
first son Grady that it was because of the character on Sanford & Son!

I have one son named Nathaniel (after Nathaniel Hawthorne...I was originally an
English major). My daughter's name is Nachel
(pronounced...Nah-shell)--- she was named after Nichelle Nichols who played Lt.
Uhura on the original Star Trek (my first husband was a Trekkie)---I fought against
the Klingon version of the name!
I thought that I had broken the habit of naming my children after books and authors
with my third child, Garrett Taylor"Jordan" --- but then realized it wasn't
happening. "Jordan" was selected because of Michael Jordan...my husband is a
sports fanatic / coach.
So, now, my animals are becoming the "victims" of mad-librarian disease. My cats
(a brother and sister who look so much alike that they could be "bookends") are
Barnes and Noble. (But I think there's a musical influence that has taken over
because our dog (the latest addition to the family) is named "Toby"....for Toby
Keith (country singer).
