The consensus is that the novel we couldn't' think of was Ever by Levine, and the picture book was First-Day Jitters. Thank you all so much. Here's one from another librarian in my system that's not on LM_NET: I am trying to remember the title of a book where the queen is ill. The king promises that is "the gods" heal her he will sacrifice the first person to congratulate him on her recovery. Of course that has to be their daughter. I think I got it from Junior Library Guild, but I don't remember. Any ideas? OR this one? I've been trying to remember the title of a book, too. It's a "back to school" kind of picture book - all the way through the story you don't see the main character, but she's nervous about going back to school, whether the kids will like her, etc.... and then the last page shows the nervous person = the teacher. Any ideas? Thank you!
