I have had many e-mails asking what RTI stands for. Someone posted a question asking if anyone is involved in their schools RTI. RTI stands for Response to Intervention. It is part of our PLC's (Professional Learning Communities.)We have 25 minutes of intense tutoring during the school day twice a week. Students are assigned to teachers where they need help. Many different sessions are open for those students that are not assigned to a specific tutoring session. I have the study hall in the library for 65 students. Some students are assigned to study hall and some are there by choice. Every teacher in the school is running some type of tutoring. For instance, the PE teachers participate. One may be reinforcing skills, one with students do make up miles and one may be teaching from our Fit for Life book, or running baasketball drills for choice.
