I know most of you are school librarians but I am hoping that those of you who are
public librarians or those who have experience with nursing home residents can help
me out.

My daughter hosts a book club comprised of about 5 girls around the ages of 10-11.
I thought we could tie in a service project for the group in the month of December
to a nursing home. Maybe take a gift (book of course) and read to some of the
residents. I wanted to keep it a reading/book related activity.

I am looking for suggestions of books that the girls could give and/or read to the
residents. Any of you have any suggestions? I was thinking along the lines of
something like a collection of short inspirational stories.

I also welcome any other suggestions you may have if you have had experience with
nursing home residents in your libraries.

Thanks!
