This year the goal of my library department is to increase the usage of non-fiction
print and electronic resources. This goal was devised after looking at the NYS ELA
assessment and Grade 12 English Regents exams. We had wide proficiency gaps with
questions dealing with non-fiction writings.

We have decided to create a simple survey to canvas teachers and students about
these tools. We are thinking of having the surveys completed after a class
completes a research project or activity and then meet as a department to develop
ways to increase student and teacher use, through promotions, teacher in-service,
etc.
Has anyone developed any surveys for usage of library materials, research
activities, or database opinions, that you would be willing to share?

Thanks so much for the help. Happy Halloween!
