We had a small band of thunderstorms move through this morning, and a tree on the campus of a neighboring District was hit by lightning. Students were outside at the time. None were hit, but apparently some were knocked to the ground. It would seem to me that schools ought to have a policy that keeps everyone inside when there is lightning outside, but we don't have such a policy and obviously they don't either. Do any of you have such a policy? I realize that it would be a bit of an inconvenience for schools that have classes in outbuildings (Ag, Vo-tech, etc.) but I would think that a lightning strike on a student would be a greater "inconvenience" for everyone concerned. -- David Lininger, kb0zke MS/HS Librarian Skyline MS/HS Urbana, MO 65767 (417) 993-4226 t i g e r l i b r a r i a n at g m a i l dot c o m -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
