Hi Sybil,
This is a big concern of mine as well, which is why I advocate energetically
for information literacy programs.
My project's website, Educational Hotlinks for Middle School

has extensive resources in info literacy and study skills.
I particularly commend the IMSA Info Lit site which has a tremendous program
and resources for K-12.
