Good morning, everyone, I have a question about in-house circulation of textbooks. Our students purchase their own textbooks, but we keep a few copies of each textbook in the library for in-house circulation. The problem is that there is such a rush to check out these books before and after school, that we literally have students lined up out the door and a huge waiting list while all three staff members work on this. My estimate is that our staff spends about 3 hours a day checking out textbooks for in-house circulation. This takes precious time away from reader's advisory and helping students with other tasks. I'm not yet in the position where I want to stop doing this, but I'm looking for ideas on more efficient ways of doing it. Does anyone else check out textbooks for in-house circulation? If so, how do you handle the rush before and after school. Thanks in advance for all your ideas. Lisa M.
