Why does children's literature touch our lives like no other type of literature? I
have been pondering this question for awhile. I am in library materials for
elementary school for my masters, and I have realized that when I think about books
I loved as a child, I still get excited to talk about them. I even want to read
them again. Books have touched my life as a teenage and even as an adult, but when
I think of books like A Dog Called Kitty, The Owl and the Pussycat, or The Giving
Tree I still smile.
