Last year was my first year with kindergarten in my building. We found out
that we would have them a couple of days before school started so I hobbled
along last year picking random books to read them. This year, I would like
to establish more of a curriculum. I was thinking of doing themes with them
each week and thought for one month I would do a different author each week.

So, my question to the collective brain is - what authors do you see as
must-read for kindergarteners? I'm looking for those authors who truly
speak to, entertain and evoke a strong response from our very youngest. The
first author that comes to my mind is Mo Willems - although I understand he
is appreciated on another level by my older students:) What are your
favorites for the kindergarten age group? I'll post a HIT and as always,
thanks for the input!
