"Registering for Teen Read Week shows that you support teen literacy
and the work YALSA does to advocate for it," said Sarah Cornish
Debraski, YALSA president. "Registration shows community leaders,
politicians and other stakeholders the amazing amount of support teen
reading and literacy has across the country."

Teen Read Week is a national literacy initiative aimed at teens, their
parents, librarians, educators, booksellers and other concerned adults.
The purpose of the event is to increase the number of teens who are
regular readers and library users. The general theme of Teen Read Week
is "read for the fun of it." For more information, contact the YALSA
