Hey brilliant people - I want to do a unit with my 1st grades involving the ideas of fiction/non-fiction, where they are in the library, and the concepts of solids and liquids. I am looking for a (fiction) picture book that is somehow about solids and/or liquids. My lead 1st grade teacher said that for liquids, to think about the ideas of viscosity, flow, thickness, sinking and floating...and for solids, think transparency, opaqueness, sinking and floating, and magnetic or not. We have plenty of non-fiction about these subjects, so I don't need that. However tangential the book may be, your suggestions will be very appreciated.
