Last year I taught dictionary skills using Naked Mole Rat Letters by Mary Amato. It was fabulous because the main character mis-uses words, misspells words, gets mixed up on homophones, etc. The 4th, 5th and 6th graders LOVED it because the book was so funny. They didn't even realize they were learning dictionary skills! Now, this year...I need a new title for the same lesson because all the kids in 5th and 6th grade have already had the Naked Mole Rats version of the lesson. I'd prefer a novel, but a picture book would do. Any suggestions? I've already thought of Amelia Bedelia. Thanks in advance...
