I'm presenting a program for school librarians on issues relating to
Diversity and Collection Development in school libraries. I am also
creating a survey of questions that suggest some of the possible issues or
concerns that school librarians have with providing these types of
resources. (For example, inability to locate publishers / vendors of
materials, lack of funding, etc.) However, I also want to include other
topics of concerns such as community standards, personal choices in
selection, lack of background information about diverse cultures,
languages, etc.

I have several great resources in print that provide content, lesson
plans, booklists, etc.,  and I have written some questions for the survey;
however, I KNOW that I'm probably missing something that might be of
importance--- especially to those of you who are working in the field. If
you have any ideas or suggestions for survey questions, please let me know.

I will provide you with the opportunity to answer the questions on the
survey (if you are interested---and I hope you will be), as well as a
LENGTHY list of resources, children's and YA books, and publishers of
resources that you can download and / or share with your teachers. I'll
post all of this to my wiki or the CML website (yet to be determined) for
your convenience.

Thanks for helping. I look forward to your suggestions!

~Shonda
